On August 31, 2005 the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer released new regulations regarding Well Drillers Licensing. The
regulations require that all new licensees pass the NGWA Certification General
Drilling Exam as well as any specialized drilling exams for the type of work
they are engaged. .
As of April 2007 the
Office of the State Engineer has removed the requirement or passing a New Mexico Exam.
8 Continuing
Education Units must be obtained every two years and submitted with the the
license
renewal. 6 hours shall be drilling related and 2 hours must be
specific to regulatory requirements regarding well drilling in New Mexico.
