NMGWA Scholarship Program
Each year the
Association funds a Scholarship Program to help deserving college kids of NMGWA
Members obtain their educations. Up to Four $1000.00 Awards will be
awarded.


SCHOLARSHIP
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
(Please review carefully as
these guidelines have changed with the 2008 application.)
A)
Applicant must be a current full member in good standing or related to a current
full member in good standing of the NMGWA by one of the following: ("Member"
does not include employees of a member).
Spouse, Child, Grandchild,
Legal Guardian
B)
Applicant must be enrolled in and in good
standing or accepted for enrollment in a Post-Secondary School that is an
eligible institution approved by the Department of Health, Education and
Welfare, or who plans to attend a Water Well Technology Program at a
school in Hydrology or other water related field.
Applicant must provide Proof
of Enrollment with a12 hour or greater course load by October 1, 2008 - the
Award check will be sent upon receipt. Failure to remit by October 1, 2008 will
rescind the Award.
C)
Applicant must carry a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.
D)
Freshmen applicant must provide an unofficial copy of their High School
Transcript through the most recent semester completed. All other applicants must
provide an unofficial copy of the Post Secondary School transcript through the
most recent semester completed.
E)
Applicants are eligible to receive a total of 4
Annual Scholarship Awards.
F)
Up to four, $1000.00 Scholarships will be awarded each year. More may be awarded
at the discretion of the Board of Directors at the recommendation of the
Scholarship Committee.
G)
Special consideration of the award guidelines will be given to a Graduate
Student pursuing a career in a water related field.
H)
Application deadline is March 31, 2008.
Applications postmarked after March 31st, will not be accepted. Award recipients
will be voted on at the Spring Meeting of the Board of Directors.
Award notifications will be
mailed no later than May 10, 2008. Award checks will be sent upon receipt of the
student’s Proof of Enrollment and Course Load. Failure to send by October 1,
2008 will rescind the award.
(I)
In the event more applications than available
awards are received, selections will be based on one or more of the following:
GPA, School and Community Involvement, Thoughtfulness and Effort exerted in
Completing Scholarship Application.
J) Please type or print legibly and complete all fields in full, incomplete
Applications will not be considered. Applicants that do not meet all of the
above guidelines will not be eligible.
